Its industrial origin can be traced back to 250 years ago. The roots of the company, and therefore of the entire MAN Group, go back to 1758. That was the year of the iron work "ST. Antony" who laid the foundation for the coal and steel industry in the Ruhr region. In the years 1893-1897 Rudolf Diesel and M.A.N engineers developed the first diesel engine at the Augsburg facility, and in 1904 the company built its first steam turbine in Oberhausen.
